Program Description

Program Overview

Spend a semester in the Outback studying in one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world!

Semester exchange programs allow students the opportunity to earn USF college credit from a diverse set of subjects abroad, while still paying an equivalent to USF cost. Students are enrolled abroad and take classes, live, and socialize with local and other international students, gaining a truly enriching experience and in-depth cultural immersion for one to two semesters.

Exchange programs are the most competitive and students are encouraged to begin the application process early to better focus on their personal statement and gather the needed recommendations.

Location

Darwin, Australia

Located in the "Top End," or the Northern Territory of Australia, Darwin offers a unique perspective to students seeking to study in Australia. Heavily influenced by it's location deep in the tropics and closer to Indonesia than to Sydney, Darwin offers a very special experience. Darwin is warm year-round and experiences rainfall similar to that of Florida, including an active wet season-- it is the only region of Australia not currently under drought restrictions.

For more information on Darwin, see their government page: http://www.nt.gov.au/

Host Institution

Charles Darwin University is founded on 50 years of delivering tertiary education to the Northern Territory. Formed in 2003 through a union between the Northern Territory University, Alice Springs- based Centralian College, NT Rural College in Katherine, and the Menzies School of Health Research, Charles Darwin University offers a fresh approach to training, education, research and knowledge application. With around 19,000 students Charles Darwin University is the Northern Territory's major tertiary institution. The University offers a broad range of courses and study options for students in higher education and vocational education and training, and is fast gaining a national and international reputation for excellence in both teaching and research.
