Spend a semester studying in South Korea!
Semester exchange programs allow students the opportunity earn USF college credit from a diverse set of subject abroad, while still paying an equivalent to USF cost. Students are enrolled abroad and take class, live, and socialize with local French and other international students, gaining a truly enriching experience and in depth cultural immersion for one to two semesters.
Exchange programs are competitive and students are encouraged to begin the application process early to better focus on their personal statement and gather the needed recommendations.
Chuncheon, Ganwon-do, South Korea:
"Located 50 minutes northeast of Seoul, Chuncheon enjoys the best of both worlds, boasting both the conveniences of a thriving, modern industrial city, and some of the most beautiful natural scenery in Korea. The countryside around Chuncheon attracts sporting enthusiasts and other visitors throughout the year, and Chuncheon is also close to attractive resort towns such as Kangchon, popular with both local and visiting university students. Chuncheon's calendar is also marked by an abundance of cultural activities, ranging from Festivals dedicated to Puppet theatre and Mime, to the International Animation Festival, and the traditional Snow and Ice Festival.
"In addition, Chuncheon is a sporting capital, ranging from its hosting of the Chuncheon International Marathon every autumn, to its unique position as a center for winter sports. An important part of any culture is its cuisine, and Chuncheon is renown throughout Korea for two local dishes: takkalbi and makkuksu. Takkalbi (seasoned chicken-on-the-bone), which is prepared on a shallow dish with chicken, finger-sized rice cakes, lettuce, onions, garlic, red peppers and other ingredients; then there is Makkuksu (buckwheat noodles), which is prepared with meat stock and a variety of seasonings, and is particularly popular in the summertime.
"While enjoying the unique benefits of proximity to nature, the capital city of Kangwon Province is undergoing rapid change, and is fast becoming larger and more diverse. Indeed, the future of Chuncheon looks exciting, as it strives to complete projects to develop specialized industries, in the areas of multimedia, software development, animation, fashion and design and the bio-technological industry."
