Health and Safety
USF provides program participants with sickness/accident and emergency medical evacuation insurance valid for the dates of the program. Those who will travel independently, either in advance of the program or after the program ends, must ensure that they have insurance coverage valid outside the U.S.
PUCRS has no accommodation on campus. However, PUCRS is a partner of Housing Anywhere, the international student-to-student housing platform. The rooms offered on this platform are offered by PUCRS students that go abroad for the same semester as the incoming students. While the platform itself is completely free, when students make confirm booking an administrative fee is charged as a part of Housing Anywhere’s secure booking system. This is the recommended housing arrangement by PUCRS, but housing is ultimate the responsibility of the student. https://housinganywhere.com/search/portoalegre
Who Can Participate?
Open to all degree-seeking USF students.
Students are asked to not purchase any tickets until they receive an acceptance letter from the host school overseas. This letter will have details on orientation dates and arrival airports.
Students are responsible for arranging their own flights and transportation to the host school.
Every program participant MUST have a passport, valid six months from the date of travel. Students are responsible for their own immigration documents.
Students should carefully review the Education Abroad Participant Contract, included in the Education Abroad application process. It describes students' responsibilities with regard to participation, and includes information on insurance, and cancellation and refund policies. Students will be asked to electronically sign this document. To view this document before applying, please click here.
