Program Overview

In this experiential travel abroad program, students will find themselves immersed in diverse contexts. Throughout the program, participants will interact with and learn about the socio-cultural context of diverse people's health from leading scholars, social workers, health professionals, and community leaders. They will also get the opportunity to spend time with women and men in the community, learn about their traditions, social structures, health practices, and lifestyles. In addition, students will be able to compare and contrast the practices and interventions/programs across two different regions of the country: Barcelona (second largest city in Spain) and Alicante (semi-urban) area.
