Business & Latin American Studies Courses with Locals

The Latin American Studies and Economics program is designed for two types of students. Students at the high advanced level of Spanish may take a variety of courses with Peruvian students taught in Spanish. The Universidad del Pacífico specializes in business and economic courses, and also offers courses in accounting, math, and the humanities. In addition, this program is now open to students at any level of Spanish who would like to take Spanish language courses and electives in English. The UP offers select courses in English every semester for international students. All classes are taken at the Universidad del Pacífico with Peruvian and international students.

  • Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
  • There is no language prerequisite for this program.

  • Course placement is often based on a placement test administered on-site
  • There may be mandatory prerequisites for some of the courses offered

  • In addition to their academic courses, students will have the opportunity to intern 5-10 hours per week at a host organization
  • Language proficiency for the internship will be determined by a phone interview before acceptance to the program.
  • Placements are arranged prior to arrival in the host country and language requirements vary.
  • Students will develop an ELAP Portfolio throughout the program, documenting their projects, hours, and program activities.
  • Internship placements are coordinated by ELAP, a division of ISA, and have no affiliation with the university.
