Students are able to take 6 credits over the course of this summer program through Universidad del Norte (UniNorte).

Who Can Participate
Engineering majors. Minimum GPA: Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
There is no language prerequisite for this program.

The Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical and Systems Engineering programs at the UNINORTE have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. All Engineering courses are taught in English alongside local students.

Health and Safety
USF provides program participants with sickness/accident and emergency medical evacuation insurance valid for the dates of the program. Those who will travel independently, either in advance of the program or after the program ends, must ensure that they have insurance coverage valid outside the U.S.

ISA Housing in Barranquilla allows students a truly enjoyable and immersive experience living in a Colombian home with a local family. All housing is located in middle to upper class neighborhoods and offers glimpses of everyday life with easy access to your university and to city amenities. The experience of living in another culture will be both educational and rewarding. You just have to remember to stay open-minded at all times. You will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a new culture and place as a local would, so take advantage of that and become a Colombian.
ISA Barranquilla homestays allow students to experience aspects of Colombian lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average visitor. Students have the opportunity for complete cultural immersion by staying with locals and experiencing the Colombian way of life. Homestays include breakfast, lunch and dinner every day except for Sundays and excursion days and laundry service once a week. In your homestay you will have your own bedroom, although there may be another ISA student in the same homestay. Every family has been carefully selected by ISA's resident staff in order to ensure a comfortable, enjoyable and immersive living situation.
Students may opt to secure housing independently. Students who select this option receive a discount equal to the housing portion of the program price.
